THE GENERAL DATA

Marks of group of the sizes of a radical neck of the bearing of a cranked shaft of the diesel engine of 1,7 l

Place of drawing of marks of diameter of an aperture of bearings of the diesel engine of 1,7 l

The diesel engine of 1,7 l

To a choice of a working backlash of bearings apply 4 various loose leaves which are designated by a colour label at an end face. Colour of a label designates a thickness of the loose leaf and consistently increases depending on colour: green, brown, black or blue.

If it is necessary to replace the bearing loose leaf, at first check up and make record of a label of the identification located on cranked shaft, adjacent with each radical neck of the bearing.

Write down the main marks of identification of the size of an aperture of the bearing which is put on the bottom interfaced surface of a back part of the block of cylinders of the engine.

According to a code of an aperture of the bearing and a code of a neck of a cranked shaft choose the new loose leaf of the radical bearing, using the following table. Codes of a cranked shaft are resulted on the left side, codes of apertures of bearings in the top part. The bearing type gets out on crossing of two lines.

Use as standard, and with the reduced size of radical bearings of a cranked shaft is possible. The demanded size of the bearing can be defined after measurement of a neck of a cranked shaft.

Check of a working backlash of the bearing

PERFORMANCE ORDER
1. Clear a back part of the loose leaf and a place of its installation in the block of cylinders and covers of radical bearings.
2. Establish loose leaves on the places, thus a ledge on the loose leaf it should be combined with a groove on a cover.
3. One of methods which assumes presence of a micrometer for measurement of diameter of apertures, consists in establishing covers of radical bearings together with the loose leaf on the block of cylinders and to screw their demanded moment. Measure internal diameter of each collected pair loose leaves of bearings. Measure diameter of each radical neck of a cranked shaft. Subtract from the measured diameter of the bearing the corresponding diameter of a radical neck of a cranked shaft.
4. The second (and more exact) a method consists in using a product known as Plastigage. It is a round plastic core which is compressed between the loose leaf and a neck of a cranked shaft. After removal of a cover of the radical bearing the deformed plastic core is measured by a special template which is available in complete set Plastigage. Procedure for use Plastigage the following.
5. On established in the block of cylinders loose leaves establish without greasing a cranked shaft. Necks of a cranked shaft and loose leaves should be absolutely pure and dry.
6. Cut off some slices of plastic core Plastigage (they should be slightly shorter, than width of the main bearings) and establish on each neck of a cranked shaft.
7. Establish covers with the bottom loose leaves and tighten bolts of fastening by the demanded moment. In the course of measurement of a backlash by method Plastigage do not rotate a cranked shaft.
8. Unscrew a cover of fastening of the loose leaf, remove it and to the deformed plastic core put a scale ruler. Comparing width of the deformed plastic core with control width on a scale ruler, define backlash size.
9. In end carefully clear traces Plastigage – a material from loose leaves and a cranked shaft.
