12.1. The engine

THE GENERAL DATA

At engine start коленвал does not rotate:

– Accumulator plugs are unreliably connected or oxidised;
– The accumulator is discharged or faulty;
– Infringement of integrity of electroconducting in a starter chain;
– The traction relay of a starter is faulty;
– The starter is faulty;
– Teeths of a gear wheel of a drive of a starter or teeths of a gear wreath – a flywheel are worn out;
– The tyre of grounding of the engine on the car case is disconnected.

Коленвал rotates, but the engine is not started:

– There is no fuel in a tank;
– The accumulator (коленвал rotates very slowly) is discharged;
– Are unreliably fixed or oxidised the accumulator plug;
– Elements of system of ignition (petrol engines) are damaged;
– A wrong backlash in spark plugs (petrol engines);
– The system of prestarting heating (diesel engines) is faulty;
– Damage of system of injection of fuel (petrol engines);
– The electromagnetic valve blocking giving of fuel (diesel engines) is faulty;
– Air in fuel system (diesel engines);
– Mechanical malfunction of system timing.

Unstable start of the cold engine:

– The accumulator is discharged;
– Accumulator plugs are unreliably connected or oxidised;
– Failure or interelectrode backlashes in candles (petrol engines) are incorrectly adjusted;
– The system of prestarting heating (diesel engines) is faulty;
– The system of injection of fuel (petrol engines) is damaged;
– Damage of system of ignition (petrol engines);
– A low compression in cylinders.

Unstable start of the hot engine:

– The filtering element of the air filter is polluted;
– Damage of system of injection of fuel (petrol engines);
– A low compression in cylinders.

At starter inclusion there are extraneous noise:

– Teeths on a gear wheel of a starter or a gear wreath of a flywheel are worn out or broken;
– Bolts of fastening of a starter are absent or are unreliably tightened;
– Deterioration or damage of details of a starter.

Stop of the engine after start:

– Unreliable connection of elements of system of ignition (petrol engines);
– подсос air in system of injection or an inlet collector (petrol engines);
– Damage of system of injection of fuel (petrol engines).

Unstable power setting idling:

– The filtering element of the air filter is polluted;
– подсос air in injection system, an inlet collector or hoses (petrol engines);
– The interelectrode backlash is incorrectly adjusted or spark plugs (petrol engines) are worn out;
– A non-uniform or low compression in cylinders;
– Cam-shaft cams are worn out;
– The gear belt of a drive of the mechanism timing is incorrectly established;
– Damage of system of injection of fuel (petrol engines);
– Atomizers (diesel engines) are faulty.

Ignition admissions idling:

– The interelectrode backlash is incorrectly adjusted or spark plugs (petrol engines) are worn out;
– Defective high-voltage wires (petrol engines);
– подсос air in injection system, an inlet collector or hoses (petrol engines);
– Damage of system of injection of fuel (petrol engines);
– Atomizers (diesel engines) are faulty;
– A non-uniform or low compression in cylinders;
– Were disconnected or негерметичны ventilation hoses картера the engine.

Ignition admissions in all range of turns of the engine:

– The fuel filter is polluted;
– It is faulty or low pressure of giving of fuel the fuel pump;
– The drainage aperture of a fuel tank or топливопроводы is hammered;

– A non-uniform or low compression in cylinders;
– Damage of system of injection of fuel (petrol engines).

Engine vibration at acceleration:

– The interelectrode backlash is incorrectly adjusted or spark plugs (petrol engines) are worn out;
– подсос air in injection system, an inlet collector or hoses (petrol engines);
– Damage of system of injection of fuel (petrol engines);
– The atomizer (diesel engines) is faulty.

Unstable work of the engine:

– The fuel filter is hammered;
– Malfunction or low pressure of giving of fuel the fuel pump (petrol engines);

Low return of capacity of the engine:

– The gear belt of a drive is incorrectly established;
– The fuel filter is hammered;
– It is faulty or low pressure of giving of fuel the fuel pump;
– A non-uniform or low compression in cylinders;
– The interelectrode backlash is incorrectly adjusted or spark plugs (petrol engines) are worn out;
– подсос air in injection system, an inlet collector or hoses (petrol engines);
– The system of injection of fuel (petrol engines) is faulty;
– Atomizers (diesel engines) are faulty;
– The moment of injection of fuel of the fuel pump (diesel engines) is incorrectly established;
– Jamming of brakes;
– Coupling proslipping.

Return flashes in the engine:

– The gear belt of a drive of the mechanism timing is incorrectly established;
– подсос air in injection system, an inlet collector or hoses (petrol engines);
– Damage of system of injection of fuel (petrol engines).

Low pressure of oil in the engine:

– Low level of oil or its wrong grade;
– The gauge of pressure of oil is faulty;
– Bearings of the engine or the oil pump are worn out;
– An engine overheat;
– The safety valve of pressure of oil is faulty;
– The mesh filter маслоприемника is polluted.

The engine works after ignition deenergizing:

– An excessive deposit in combustion chambers;
– An engine overheat;
– Damage of system of injection of fuel (petrol engines);
– The electromagnetic valve of a stop of the engine (diesel engines) is faulty.

Noise in the engine

Detonation in the engine at acceleration:

– The corner of an advancing of ignition (petrol engines) is incorrectly established;
– The type of spark plugs does not correspond to the demanded;
– Low OCTANESое fuel number;
– подсос air in injection system, an inlet collector or hoses (petrol engines);
– An excessive deposit in combustion chambers;
– Damage of system of injection of fuel (petrol engines).

Whistling or rattling noise:

– негерметичен an inlet collector or a throttle lining (petrol engines);
– негерметична a lining of a final collector;
– негерметичны vacuum hoses;
– The lining of a head of the block of cylinders is punched.

Jingling noise:

– It is worn out клапанный the mechanism or a cam-shaft;
– Deterioration of auxiliary elements of the engine (the water pump, the generator etc.).

Detonation or deaf noise:

– Bearings of the bottom head of a rod (noise decreases under loading) are worn out;
– Radical bearings (noise increases under loading) are worn out;
– Blows on the piston (especially on the cold engine);
– Auxiliary elements of the engine (the water pump, the generator etc.) are faulty.
