3.4.4. The top dead point (ВМТ) the piston of the first cylinder
THE GENERAL DATA

The top dead point of the piston is a point through which takes place each piston at проворачивании a cranked shaft. Each piston reaches positions ВМТ in the end of a compression step, and then again in the end of an exhaust step. For the purpose of mechanism installation гозораспределения the engine it is used ВМТ the piston of the first cylinder in a compression step. Cylinder N1 is from outside a gear belt. The cranked shaft of the engine rotates clockwise if to look on the right side of the car.

PERFORMANCE ORDER
1. Remove a wire of weight from the accumulator. For access improvement to a pulley of a cranked shaft tighten a manual brake, lift a forward part of the car and fix on supports.
2. To check up an arrangement of cams of a camshaft, uncover heads of the block of cylinders or remove the vacuum pump of brakes, thus an aperture for mechanism installation timing it will be visible on distributive to a shaft.
3. Turn the engine a wrench for a pulley of a cranked shaft before combination of an adjusting label on a pulley of a cranked shaft with the index. Thus pistons of the first and fourth cylinders become in the top dead points.
4. To define, what piston is in a compression step, check up position of cams of a camshaft. If the piston of the first cylinder is in a compression step, cams of the first cylinder of a camshaft (are specified by arrows in a photo at the left) will be directed upwards and the aperture of installation of the mechanism timing (it is specified by an arrow in a photo on the right) on a camshaft left-hand side will be in the top position. If cams of the first cylinder of a camshaft are directed downwards, turn a cranked shaft of the engine on 360 °.
5. Remove the gauge of position of a cranked shaft from the block of cylinders of the engine.
6. For fixing of a cranked shaft in position when the piston of the first cylinder is in the top dead point in a compression step, establish a pin through an aperture of the gauge of a cranked shaft on a forward part of the block of cylinders.
