3.4.12. A head of the block of cylinders
THE GENERAL DATA

The prevention

Be careful, that the dirt has not got to the fuel pump.

At installation of a head of the block of cylinders, top directing and camshaft asterisks it is necessary to use new bolts.

Removal

PERFORMANCE ORDER
1. Merge cooling liquid from cooling system.
2. Remove a wire of weight from the accumulator and a cover of a head of the block of cylinders.
3. Remove the vacuum pump of brake system.
4. Establish the piston of the first cylinder in the top dead point in a step of compression and fix a cranked shaft.
5. For access improvement to a cover of an asterisk of the fuel pump execute following actions:
  – Remove a casing of the air filter and a forward exhaust pipe;
  – Remove auxiliary приводной a belt;
  – Unscrew a nut of fastening from a frame of a suspension bracket of the power unit and raise the engine so not to deform hoses and pipes.
6. Remove top натяжитель chains.
7. Remove the tension mechanism drive a belt.
8. Unscrew bolts and uncover asterisks of the fuel pump.
9. Put combination labels between the top chain and asterisks, and also between an asterisk of a camshaft and a camshaft.
10. Unscrew bolts and remove top directing to a chain.
11. Before unscrewing of bolts of fastening of the top directing chain bolts are necessary for heating up to soften the structure interfering unscrewing of bolts.
12. Using a wrench, fix a camshaft from проворачивания and unscrew bolts of fastening of an asterisk of a camshaft. Before bolt unscrewing take a pin of blocking of a cranked shaft and after bolt unscrewing establish a pin into place.
13. Remove a chain from an asterisk of a camshaft and take an asterisk from the engine. Under a chain establish a screw-driver or a steel core to prevent its falling in a head of the block of cylinders.
14. Clear area about connection of the pipeline of giving of fuel to the fuel pump and unscrew bolts of fastening of pipelines (are specified by arrows). Disconnect a return tube from the fuel pump. Disconnect pipelines from скоб fastenings and move them aside from a head of the block of cylinders.
15. Remove inlet and final collectors. If dismantling of a head of the block of cylinders is not required, it can be removed together with collectors after performance of following actions:
  – On turbo models disconnect inlet channels and a metal pipe from турбонагнетателя;
  – Unscrew a bolt of fastening of a plait of wires to the top part of an inlet collector and disconnect electric sockets;
  – Disconnect an electric socket from the gauge of a cranked shaft;
  – Disconnect pipes from fuel atomizers;
  – Disconnect vacuum hoses from the switch of an inlet collector and EGR the valve;
  – Disconnect electric wires from candles накаливания and remove the heat resisting screen турбонагнетателя;
  – Disconnect маслопроводы турбонагнетателя from the block of cylinders, disconnect a vacuum hose of a diaphragm заслонки;
  – Remove the heat resisting screen of a starter.
16. Loosen the collars also disconnect hoses of giving of a cooling liquid to a head of the block of cylinders.
17. Unscrew the top bolt of fastening of the generator and move the generator from a head of the block of cylinders.
18. Unscrew three bolts of fastening of the right end of a head of the block of cylinders to the top part of a cover of a chain and one bolt, крепящего a head of the block of cylinders to the block of cylinders.
19. Gradually and consistently, upside-down, unscrew 10 bolts of fastening of a head of the block of cylinders.
20. Take bolts of fastening of a head of the block of cylinders together with washers.
21. Remove a head of the block of cylinders. Remove a lining of a head of the block of cylinders.

The prevention

Do not stack a head of the block of cylinders the bottom part on a table, but only on wooden бруски as from a head of the block of cylinders fuel atomizers and candles накаливания act.


Preparation for installation

PERFORMANCE ORDER
1. Interfaced surfaces of a head and the block of cylinders of the engine are necessary for clearing carefully of the lining and deposit rests, using a plastic or wooden scraper. Also it is necessary to clear the top parts of pistons. At clearing exclude vozmozh-nost hits of products of clearing in oil channels of system of cooling. Carefully clear internal surfaces of cylinders.
2. Check up surfaces of interface of a head and the block of cylinders of the engine on presence of defects. Insignificant damages are eliminated by machining. Also using a metal ruler and probe, check up planeness прилегания surfaces.
3. Clear apertures under bolts in the block. Bolt screwing up in the aperture filled with oil can break off the block because of hydraulic pressure.
4. Depending on size выступания pistons from the block of cylinders it is necessary to use a lining of a head of strictly certain thickness. The thickness of a lining is identified by the apertures punched in the left forward corner of a lining (see table N1).
5. Check up that the cranked shaft is in position of the top dead point of the piston of the first cylinder. Establish the indicator of hour type on an arm on the block of cylinders. Establish a measuring tip on the block of cylinders and establish an indicator scale on 0. Establish a measuring tip on the piston of the first cylinder and slightly turn a cranked shaft in both parties and note the highest value on the indicator. Write down this value.
6. Similarly measure выступание the piston on cylinder N4. Then turn a camshaft on 180 ° and repeat measurement выступания pistons on cylinders 2 and 3. Turn a camshaft on 540 ° and establish it in a starting position.
7. Using size maximum выступания the piston, pick up a lining of a head of the block of cylinders (see table N2).

Installation

PERFORMANCE ORDER
1. Wipe interfaced surfaces of the block of cylinders and a head of the block of cylinders.
2. Check up that two directing pins are established in a head of the block of cylinders and establish a lining of a head of the block of cylinders.
3. Check up that the cranked shaft is fixed in position of the top dead point of the piston of the first cylinder in a compression step, and cams of a camshaft of the first cylinder are directed upwards and the groove on a camshaft left-hand side is parallel to a surface of a head of the block of cylinders.
4. Establish a head of the block of cylinders. Take the top chain on top of a head of the block of cylinders and fix it on a head, using an edge of a screw-driver or a steel core.
5. Grease bolts of fastening of a head of the block of cylinders with engine oil, insert them into a head and tighten by hand.
6. Gradually and consistently in some stages tighten bolts of fastening of a head of the block of cylinders.
7. Screw up bolts of fastening of a cover of a chain to the right party of a head of the block of cylinders.
8. Turn the generator to the engine and fix the top bolt of fastening of the generator.
9. Connect hoses of giving of a cooling liquid of a head of the block of cylinders and fix their collars.
10. Establish inlet and final collectors.
11. Establish a camshaft asterisk on a camshaft.
12. Establish pipelines of giving of fuel with new washers and fix their demanded moment.
13. Fill in cooling liquid in system of cooling of the engine.
