8.20. Adjustment of a manual brake

Models with back drum-type brakes

PERFORMANCE ORDER
1. Lift a back part of the car and fix on supports.
2. For check of adjustment of a manual brake completely release it. Some times press a pedal of a brake for installation of a normal working backlash between brake колодками and a drum. Tighten a manual brake some times for correct installation of the automatic mechanism of adjustment of a manual brake.
3. For check of correctness of adjustment of a manual brake tighten the lever of a manual brake against the stop and count quantity of clicks which should make 7. If the quantity of clicks differs from specified, it is necessary to make adjustment as follows.
4. Remove a protective casing of a manual brake from the central console and remove it, shifting on the lever of a manual brake for access to an adjusting nut.
5. Tighten a manual brake on 5 clicks and rotate an adjusting nut until back wheels of the car will rotate still freely.
6. Tighten the lever of a manual brake on 7 clicks and check up that both back wheels are braked. If it is necessary, repeat adjustment process.
7. Establish a protective casing and lower the car.

Models with back disk brakes

PERFORMANCE ORDER
1. Lift a back part of the car and fix on supports.
2. Lower the lever of a manual brake, then tighten it on 7 clicks. Check up that both back wheels are braked.
3. If adjustment is necessary, completely release a manual brake, remove a protective casing of a manual brake from the central console and remove it on the lever of a manual brake for access to an adjusting nut. Unscrew a nut by the end of a forward cable of a manual brake.
4. Remove both back wheels.
5. Turn a brake disk so that the aperture in a disk was established opposite to an adjusting lath. Insert a screw-driver through an aperture of a brake disk and completely unclench brake Pads a manual brake, rotating an adjusting ring.
6. After full затормаживания a disk brake колодками turn an adjusting ring in the opposite direction on 5–6 teeths therefore the brake disk should rotate freely. Repeat actions on adjustment of a backlash brake колодок on the second wheel.
7. In car salon screw up an adjusting nut on the lever of a manual brake (in drawing the nut arrangement is shown) and tighten a manual brake on 7 clicks. Check up, back wheels are braked. If adjustment is necessary, release a manual brake and repeat adjustment, rotating an adjusting nut.
8. Establish back wheels, establish a protective casing of the lever of a manual brake and lower the car.
