The prevention

At thermostat installation it is necessary to establish a new sealing ring.

Removal

PERFORMANCE ORDER
1. Remove a wire of weight from the accumulator.
2. Merge cooling liquid from cooling system.
3. Loosen the a collar also disconnect the top hose from a thermostat casing on the right party of the engine.
4. Remove a gear belt, an intermediate pulley, a pulley of a camshaft and a back casing of a gear belt.
5. Unscrew bolts and uncover the thermostat a head of the block of cylinders.
6. Take the thermostat from a casing and remove a sealing ring.

Check
Rough check of the thermostat can be spent, having suspended it on a thread in the glass vessel filled with water and heating up water to boiling. At boiling of water the thermostat should open. Otherwise replace it.

The temperature of opening of the thermostat is put on the thermostat.

The thermostat which is not closed at water cooling, also is subject to replacement.

Installation

PERFORMANCE ORDER
1. Clear interfaced surfaces of a cover of the thermostat and a head of the block of cylinders.
2. Establish the thermostat in a head of the block of cylinders together with a new sealing ring.
3. Establish a cover of the thermostat and fix bolts.
4. Establish a back casing of a gear belt, a camshaft pulley, a gear belt and an intermediate pulley.
5. Connect the top hose to the thermostat and fix a collar.
6. Fill in cooling liquid in cooling system.
7. Connect the accumulator.

PETROL ENGINES DOCH 1.6, 1.8 AND 2,0 L

Removal

PERFORMANCE ORDER
1. Remove a wire of weight from the accumulator.
2. Merge cooling liquid from cooling system.
3. Loosen the a collar also remove the top hose from a thermostat cover. On engines of 1,6 l the thermostat cover is established to the case attached by bolts by the forward end of the engine. On engines of 1,8 and 2,0 l a cover the thermostat fastens bolts directly to a head of the block of cylinders. Thus it is necessary to remove in addition small hose.
4. Unscrew bolts and uncover the thermostat in which the thermostat (on a photo – the thermostat of petrol engine DOCH 1,6) is fixed.
5. On engines of 1,6 l remove a sealing ring.
6. Whether on engines of 1,8 2,0 l remove a lining.
