2.2.6.1. Replacement of spark plugs
THE GENERAL DATA

Correct functioning of spark plugs – one of the major conditions of effective work of the engine. It is necessary, that on the engine spark plugs only the ordered type have been established. At the serviceable engine cleaning of spark plugs – rare operation.

PERFORMANCE ORDER
1. On engine DOCH of 1,6 l remove маслозаливную a stopper, unscrew screws (are specified by arrows) and remove a casing from the top part of the engine. Establish маслозаливную a stopper into place.
2. On engines of 1,8 and 2,0 l unscrew screws and uncover spark plugs the top part of a cover of a head of the block of cylinders.
3. In the absence of labels on high-voltage wires (rice the Arrangement of labels of identification see) it is necessary to mark them not to be mistaken at their further installation.
4. Remove high-voltage wires from spark plugs, having pulled for a candle tip.
5. Clear candles, using a brush, a vacuum cleaner or a stream of compressed air that will exclude dirt hit in cylinders of the engine after вывинчивания spark plugs.
6. Unscrew candles, using a candle key.
7. The visual control of a working part of spark plugs can show an engine condition. If a nasal part of an insulator of spark plugs pure and white, without a touch it testifies to too poor mix. It also specifies that the candle too hot, that is warmly from the central electrode is taken away slowly. If it so it is necessary to adjust structure of a mix or to replace a candle.
8. If the nasal part of an insulator of a candle is covered by black touch, it means that a mix too rich. If a touch black and oily it testifies to deterioration of the engine and necessity of its check and repair. If the nasal part of an insulator is covered by light brown touch the mix structure is optimum also the engine is in a good condition.
9. The interelectrode backlash of a spark plug is of great importance, as at too big or at too small backlash the size of a spark that leads to decrease in an overall performance of the engine changes. The backlash should correspond to technical requirements always.
10. Backlash check is carried out by a wire template (a photo at the left) or probeом (a photo on the right).
11. Backlash updating is carried out подгибанием a lateral electrode (on a photo – a spark plug with несколшькими lateral electrodes). The central electrode in no event cannot be bent, as it can lead to breakage of an insulator and a candle exit out of operation.
12. For подгибания a lateral electrode of a candle it is necessary to use the special tool.
13. Before spark plug installation in the engine check up, that the carving was pure and all threads of a carving whole.
14. For candle screwing up on some coils it is possible to use a piece of a rubber hose in which on the one hand to insert an insulator of a candle and, rotating a hose, to wrap a candle on some coils. Then it is necessary to remove a hose and to screw up a candle the demanded moment.
15. Connect to candles high-voltage wires.
